Island Park Vacation

A couple weeks ago was our annual trip to Island Park with my family. This is the second year we've gone, and this year we rented a cabin that was actually big enough to fit us all! Despite my recovering from a bad cold, we had a great weekend. Here are some pics of our trip:

This is my brother Sean on the snowmobile. But please draw your attention to the people on the deck in the background. Yes, I'm the one in red with my hands on my head, freaking out. So "Jen", don't you think?

At one point during the first day, someone started stair sledding. They used this big, plastic sled and literally sled down the stairs from the 2nd story deck. Of course Chance was one of the first in line:

The teenagers all decided it would be great fun to jump off the 2nd story deck into the snowbank below. They were a bit hesitant to try it, until Aunt Kandice came up with her camera and promised to get action shots. These are the result:

Colton was on a snowmobile during this little episode, so Kenneth took his place among the older boys:

On Saturday afternoon, everyone loaded up in trucks or on sleds and went to a huge sled hill a couple miles from the cabin. Even though I was tired and sick, I was bullied into going by almost the entire family.

Saturday morning, before going to the sled hill, Katie got her hair braided by her Aunt Diana:

Yes, that is Kenneth dragging behind the sled behind the bigger sled:

The evenings were spend sitting in the cabin's hot tub (mostly the kids), or listening to the boys (and a few girls) play rock band on Boyd's Wii. The racket was deafening at times, but it was funny to watch. A few Texas Hold'em games were played, and I even got to learn how to play pinochle! Anyone for a game?

Doesn't it just make you sick to see how cute this girl is??

Chance and Colton avoiding the camera while playing Texas Hold'em:

The kids love to play with their younger cousins. They are tickling and teasing Aedan in this photo:

The drums were fun for the kids to try. Kenneth was rocking out, and Chance even helped Kylee play.

Colton was awesome on the guitar, but somehow we didn't manage to get a photo of it. We were always too busy watching the screen to see how well he was playing.

The kitchen in the cabin was so nice there was always someone hanging out, snacking or playing tricks. Sean got Kandice and Mom by putting a rubberband around the sprayer on the sink, and sprinkled a peanut butter and jam sandwich with garlic salt before giving Mom and I each a half. The funniest part was that we didn't even taste it! This photo is just me hanging out with Diana and Kandice in the kitchen...

All in all, we had a great weekend together. It was also awesome to see Tait and Triston, who live in Reno now. It's been quite awhile since they were able to visit, so we were glad to be able to help get them to Island Park.

**Disclaimer: This post may sound like it was written by me, but it was actually written by my blogmaster, Kandice. Yep, I said blogmaster. So if I said something that just doesn't sound like me, blame it on her. Though she thinks she did pretty well pretending to be me. :-)
